Principal's Page

My name is Kim Brasfield-Carpenter and many people know me as Dr. BC.  I will be serving as your child's principal.  Please know that your child is in very competent hands.  I have worked in the Chicago Public Schools (CPS) for 22 years; 13 years as a teacher, 2 years as an assistant principal, and 7 years as a principal.  Even though this will be my first year working in District 148,  what you can expect from my leadership is a strong, hard-working visionary who wants to empower every child.  This can be achieved by the following:

• Providing high-quality, rigorous instruction that prepares your child with 21st century skills that are necessary in life.
• Creating consistent, structured and supportive school systems and routines that fosters positive student engagement and enjoyment.
• Capturing your children's hearts by supporting their physical, social, and emotional growth and development.  

As a parent of 3 children, I know how important it is to want the best for your children.  I understand that your children are the most valuable assets in our world.  I look forward to working with you to ensure that this happens!
