Mentors

Each protege is assigned a building mentor to work with them as they complete the activities in the program. Each of our building mentors has attended either the Governors State Foundational Mentor Training or been trained in the Charlotte Danielson PATHWISE Program. Many have been through both trainings. Our mentors recognize that they are more than a "buddy" to the new teacher. We expect our mentors to be professional development facillitators for our beginning teachers, helping them to grow as professionals based on the ISBE Teaching Standards There is an Induction/Mentor Coordinator that is a full release teacher to oversee the program and provide monthly professional development to first and second year proteges along with building mentors.
