Partnership for Resilience #

District 148 is a member of the Southland Partnership for Resilience, a consortium of organizations that works to improve the academic, health and social outcomes for children. The Partnership’s focus is on creating these outcomes by fostering trauma-responsive schools and effective family, school, health and community partnerships. In District 148, we found that many of the strategies used by the Partnership work to improve the outcomes for all of our students. In fact, these efforts help to create the nurturing and intellectually stimulating environments in schools that we know lead to thriving, successful children!

We know that successful people in our world have more than just knowledge and skills in their content areas. They also have what is known as soft skills. Children are not born knowing these skills, so they must be developed. But, for some of our children, developing these skills is not easy. They need more support to acquire these vital skills.

For those of you looking for ways to develop these skills in your students, we have created this Classroom Strategies Tool Kit. In it, you will find a multitude of different ways that you, as a teacher, can help your students grow! The activities included here are classroom based and teacher tested!
