Dolton-Riverdale School District 148 was pleased to see a major turnout of parents and guardians at the first Parent Advisory Committee meeting of the 2019-2020 school year Wednesday at ECC at Harriet Tubman School.

The meeting, themed “Parenting in the Millennium…Setting Standards to Stand on”, consisted of a parent workshop presented by motivational speaker, author and health strategist Rhonda Thomas. Topics included family values, differences in generations, social media for parents and bullying. “Parents that show up, have students that go up,” said Thomas.

“Congratulations to Roosevelt School for having the most parents in attendance,” said Superintendent Dr. Kevin Nohelty. “They will receive Taffy Apples today and a future ‘out-ofuniform’ day. We look forward to the next winning school at the next Parent Advisory Committee Meeting on February 19, 2020.”
