Dear Parents:

United in Achieving Success!  Our motto for the 2009-10 school year reflects the commitment everyone here in Dolton West Elementary District 148 makes to all of our children. Our belief is that they can reach their highest level of performance and achieve continued academic excellence.

Another round of improvements to the learning environment at our schools is nearing completion. The Board of Education’s decision to have Chevron Energy Solutions Company make these upgrades illustrates our ongoing investment in the students and the communities we serve.

Please stop by and see the new lighting, flooring, drinking fountains, and other improvements in our buildings during upcoming events and activities at the schools.  Those opportunities include Elementary Open House, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9th and Junior High Open House, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10th. Both Open Houses will take place at your child’s school.

We urge you to be involved in your child’s education. The children love showing you what they have learned and seeing you in their schools.

From our administrators and faculty to the staff and Board of Education, each of us looks forward to this new school year and to working together with you to make this a successful year for all!
