Dear Parents:

The Administrators and staff in District 148 are enthusiastically looking forward to this new school year.  A few days ago the Board of Education accepted the retirement letter of Dr. Ruby Roberson effective immediately.  To continue our journey toward excellence in education the Board voted me, Dr. Jayne E. Purcell, to serve as interim Superintendent.  I have worked in District 148 for 24 years.  Many of you have known me as a teacher, Principal of Lincoln School, and most recently Director of Support Programs.  I am honored to have been chosen to lead this district into the new school year.

District 148 has always been and will continue to be child-centered.  Your children are our focus and our mission is to help them achieve their potential.  In building bridges to success we need your support.  Please remember to mark your calendars now for Elementary Open House scheduled from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 9th and Junior High Open House scheduled from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 10th.  I look forward to seeing you at upcoming building and district events.  Together we will be able to make a positive difference in the lives of all of our children.
