Outstanding Work in Science

Plenty of outstanding science projects were presented by Dolton West Elementary District 148 seventh and eighth grade students during this year’s Junior High Science Fairs.

A total of 29 student projects from Lincoln, Roosevelt and Washington Junior High Schools earned top honors at the local level and were chosen to move on to the Regional Science Fair on Saturday, March 13th. They include projects presented by:

  • Najah Binbek, Jamal Spruiell, Teona Daniels, Boitrice Stewart, Darius Pace, Michael King, Kaylynn Sanders, Genesis Lee and Joslyn Spruiell, Tabitha Manning, Desiree Wease and Ashaley Maxy, and Marcus Harrell.
  • Taniyah Roberson, Tia Williams, Zaaria Jordan, DeAndre Jennings, Albert Cox, Torrian Akins, Briana Washington, Ja’Neka Lewis, Paris Bradley and Paris White.
  • Jaisyn Passmore, Machond Livingston, Tahari Woods, Tyera Adugba, Howard Hillman, Deonte McCants, Alesha Booker, and Crystal McAlpin.

Of these, 27 student projects will be in the regional competition at Unity Junior High School in Cicero.

 




Each junior high school also singled out the top seventh grade science project at their school. Those top students also presented their projects during the Board of Education’s February 25th meeting.
