DISTRICT OFFICE TEAM

Dr. Patricia Moore, Assistant Superintendent
When Dr. Patricia Moore stepped into her new job on July 1 as Dolton West Elementary District 148’s new Assistant Superintendent, she brought with her more than 30 years of experience and a desire to continue to enhance the academic growth taking place in the district’s schools.
“I’m looking forward to all of the great things that will transpire this school year,” she said.
Moore comes to District 148 from Prairie-Hills Elementary District 144 in Markham where she worked for the past year as Supervisor of Human Resources/Transportation.
Before that she was a District 144 principal and assistant principal for 10 years. Her previous experience includes 22 years as a teacher in Harvey Elementary District 152.
“She is definitely ‘Children First.’ She is a team player and I’m delighted to have her on my team,” Superintendent Jayne Purcell said. “I know we are going to move forward for the betterment of children.”
It has been Moore’s lifelong goal to work in education.
“I love people and I wanted to be able to give back to my community. One way of giving back is to help children,” she said.
Moore is the daughter of Lula Mae Parrott who worked as a paraprofessional at Thornridge High School in Dolton for about 14 years until her retirement a few years ago.
Moore also is one of 13 children in her family.
She and her husband, Warren, have two grown children - Warren Moore IV, and April Warrenita Solomon - and a 15-month-old grandson, Jason Leroy Samuel Solomon Jr.
Moore received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Eureka College, her Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from National-Louis University, and her Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership, also from National-Louis University.
