Harriet Tubman School participates
in annual fundraiser traditions

Just by jumping rope and tossing some basketballs, students at Harriet Tubman Elementary School recently raised more than $1,200 for the American Heart Association.

The annual Hoops for Heart and Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser events were held on Thursday, March 18th and Friday, March 19th, respectively. Both of these fundraisers have become annual traditions at the Dolton elementary school.  

Tubman School has participated in Jump Rope for Heart every year since the school’s 1997 opening and in Hoops for Heart since 2004, according to Physical Education Teacher Gary Lilly.

About 160 students and staff participated in this year’s Jump Rope for Heart.
