Dedicated. Caring. Generous. Service-minded.

These attributes define each of the seven individuals who serve on the Board of Education of District 148.

The district celebrated School Board Members Day by recognizing board members for their tireless volunteerism, devotion to the school community, and for always putting students first.

During the board's November 19th meeting, Superintendent Dr. Jayne E. Purcell presented each member with a framed certificate, a letter of thanks, and copies of resolutions signed by officials from the Villages of Dolton and Riverdale. The occasion also was marked by balloons, a "Thank You" cake and performances by the Advance District Vocal Ensemble.

Board President Joyce Jackson voiced her appreciation and thanked the school community "for having us."
