Roosevelt Elementary School students
on board with technology bus

Some Roosevelt Elementary School students recently had some fun with technology when The K. RIMM Foundation’s mobile technology bus visited their school.
Third-graders at the Dolton school spent some time on “The Green Machine” technology bus on Tuesday, November 24th.
The students had the opportunity to complete puzzle games on laptop computers. Each of the participating third grade classes spent 45 to 50 minutes aboard the bus. .
Kim Thurmon, executive director of the South Holland-based K. RIMM Foundation non-profit family organization, said she got the idea for the mobile technology bus while attending St. Xavier University.
She said she wanted to do something to help “bridge the gap of the digital divide" between people who have access to digital and information technology and those with limited or no access.
This is the first year of The K. RIMM technology bus and Thurmon said her goal is to eventually have a "mobile school" which provides access to all.
