inducts NJHS members
Each of the inductees signed his or her name into LJH's chapter registry.
Nineteen Lincoln Junior High School eighth grade students who have demonstrated excellence in a variety of areas including leadership and academics earned the high honor of induction into their school’s chapter of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) on Thursday, October 20th. During an official induction ceremony held at the school, the students pledged to uphold the Honor Society’s key principles of leadership, scholarship, character, service, and citizenship. The students received certificates, signed their names into a ledger, and lit candles during their induction into the Dolton school’s chapter of NJHS. This year’s Lincoln NJHS inductees include Javion Harper, Arrion Pamon, DeLaura Jordan, Bre’shona Randle, Jose Garcia, Jada Bishop, Jaila Browley, Mary Fleming, Jessica Graham, Derrell Johnson, LaNaya Martin, Patricia Miles, Tatyana Meeks, Jared Moore, Troya Ross, O’Sheana Thompson, Marshon Wade, and Kayla Washington. Lincoln Avenue School Principal Michael Winston, Assistant Principal Torie Navarre, Teachers and NJHS Sponsors Amber Williams and Carol Benda, District 148 Assistant Superintendent Dr. Patricia Moore, parents and other family members, and Thornridge High School Algebra Teacher Prince Lowe who also is a Lincoln School alum, were among those who attended the Dolton school’s induction ceremony. The students were selected as NJHS members based on their grade point average of 3.2 or higher, a demonstration of the Honor Society’s values, and teacher input.
