National, state teachers union reps
 visit District 148 schools


District and school administrators spent time with visiting National Education Association (NEA)
and Illinois Education Association (IEA) representatives on Monday, November 9th.

retired Washington School Social Worker and former IEA Region 2 Chairperson Jean Rogers,
IEA Vice President Robert Blade and his wife Alene, Washington School Principal Joy Chase,
NEA Director Al Llorens, and Washington School Assistant Principal Michael Bruce.

 

Some national and state teachers union representatives recently paid a visit to three Dolton West Elementary District 148 schools.

National Education Association (NEA) Director Al Llorens, who also is a math teacher at Thornridge High School in Dolton, and Illinois Education Association (IEA) Vice President Robert Blade and his wife Alene spent part of the day on Monday, November 9th at District 148’s Early Childhood Center and Lincoln Avenue and Washington schools.

“It’s really interesting to see different schools across the state,” Blade said. “It struck me that they (District 148) have a lot of good things going on in the schools.”

Also on hand for the day was Jean Rogers, a retired Washington School social worker and former IEA Region 2 chairperson.

The visitors toured the schools and also attended Lincoln Avenue School’s National Junior Honor Society Induction Ceremony.
