Fourth Grade "Scientists" Receive Accolades

Dolton West Elementary District 148 School Board member James E. Bendell and
board Vice President Faith E. Gunter pose with four-graders who received certificates
of recognition from the board during its January 28th meeting. One Grade 4 student each from Franklin,

With titles such as "Underwater Fireworks 'Diffusion'," "Fingerprints" and "Which Brand of Popcorn Pops Most of Its Kernels?" Dolton West Elementary District 148's Grade 4 Science Fair projects covered a wide range of topics this year.

The "scientists" behind these and other science projects were on hand to explain and demonstrate their work during the District 148 Board of Education's January 28th meeting.

One Grade 4 student from each elementary building was chosen for the honor. Among them are:

  • Thristine Coker
  • DeRonte Pope
  • Jacobi D.
  • Jordan Greene
  • Khalid Muhammad
  • Qama’al Williams
  • Curtis Pointer

These students were selected by teachers from the schools. The students are among the many who created Science Fair projects and had them judged at their schools on Tuesday, Decemeber 1st.

Each of the chosen fourth grade students gave a presentation
on their science project to the School Board.
