As they do every year, Franklin Elementary School students put their hearts into this fundraiser.

The school’s Annual Hoops for Heart event had 47 youngsters collecting monetary donations for time spent jumping rope, playing basketball, and Hula Hooping.

On Thursday, February 11th  students in fourth through sixth grades spent time at the end of the school day making good on their promises to get active for the American Heart Association benefit. Students in kindergarten through Grade 3 did the same on Tuesday, February 16th.

In all, more than $940 was raised for the American Heart Association, said Franklin School Nurse Kathy Eifrid who coordinated the event along with physical education Teacher Michael Leyendecker.
