Three Dolton West Elementary District 148 eighth grade students have been recognized for their outstanding talents and leadership qualities in band and choir.

One student is the recipient of this year’s Band Director’s Award and two others were chosen for the first-ever Choral Director’s Award.

“These students have shown an exemplary amount of leadership, musicianship, responsibility, and all around good character,” District 148 Vocal Ensemble Director Ronisha Dubose said. “These awards are reserved for 8th grade Band and Vocal Ensemble members that display these qualities.”

The students were honored and received certificates for their achievements during the May 20th Board of Education meeting. Their names are inscribed on plaques that permanently hang in the school district office.
