New Building and Grounds Director hired

Alejandro Zamora III has plenty of reason to celebrate these days.

He became Dolton West Elementary District 148’s Director of Building and Grounds on Monday, March 14th, and recently welcomed the arrival of his firstborn son - Alejandro IV.

Mr. Zamora said he is excited about being a part of the District 148 family.

“The staff, on all levels, has been very helpful and willing to get the work done. Everyone is very committed to that work. I have a great partner in Andrew Arnold, our nighttime supervisor from Aramark,” he said.

Mr. Zamora said he looks forward to helping maintain the school system’s buildings to the highest standards and he already is looking at potential energy savings opportunities for the District.

A licensed electrician through the City of Woodstock, Mr. Zamora’s prior work experience includes having served as the head of the maintenance department at the Ulta Cosmetics, Fragrance, Salon and Beauty Gifts distribution center in Romeoville.

He also worked for eight years as lead maintenance technician for Peapod LLC and is a former educator at Lazos Latinos trade school in Melrose Park where he taught electrical classes to non-English speaking adult students.

Mr. Zamora has an associate’s degree in applied science from the College of Lake County; a certificate in electrical maintenance and a certificate in electrical technician, both from Coyne American Institute; and has Universal technician certification from the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute. He also is licensed by the Illinois Department of Public Health.

He and his fiancee also have two daughters, Xochitl, 10, and Citlali, 9.
